You get two posts in one day since this one is just a list. Okay so we've been in the house barely over a week now. And here is where we are so far.
- 90% unpacked and things put somewhere (we'll see if it's where they belong)
- a new grill (gift from dad & Janet!) assembled but not yet used
- drapes hung in the master (free from Aunt Shelly!)
- roman shades purchased from Home Depot hung in the front 5 windows for around $250.00
- our old sheers hung in the dining (not yet finished)
- farmhouse bench hand built for our new (old) dining table (thanks pops & B!)
- 4 chairs bought for $20 for the other side of the table that need to be refinished (thanks for the find Aunt Netta!)
- ceiling fan from Home Depot bought (gift from nana!) (more on that here & here)
- a washer dryer set bought (thanks coworker!) for $75 (installed and used)
- wall decorations (gift from mom!) dispersed around the house and hung
- lawn mowed with our new (old) mower (free from Uncle J!)
- refrigerator delivered and installed - bought from Lowe's using around $100 of our money (the rest gifted from B's gparents!)
- doorknobs and hardware spray painted ORB (thanks for the help Amanda!) (more on that here)
- secretary repainted and (about to be) repurposed (thanks for the help Amanda!) (more on that here)
- guest bedroom queen size headboard and footboard sanded and repainted (thanks for the help Amanda!)
- all black frames spray painted white (thanks for the help Amanda!)
- master bed put on risers
- clothes rod purchased for $10 hung in laundry with wooden brackets from Lowe's for around $3
- knock out roses planted out front (free with labor from nana and pops!) (more on that here)
- dusk to dawn light purchased for around $5 installed in the yard lamp (is this the technical term?)
Things that need to be done in the near future:
-
- hem the sheers behind the shades in front
- purchase more sheers and rings for dining room windows
- organize garage
- organize the office
-
-
- use our grill!
- don't kill knock out roses (here's how we planted them)
- set up shop in the office for wedding stuff (surprise, it's a DIY wedding)
- touch up secretary and set it up as a mini bar
- figure out what the hay we are going to do to the 4 chairs for the dining and do it
Stay tuned! It will get more exciting then putting up a fan. I
